Trillium Yoga & Instructor Kristin Profile

Community partnerships make Grayslake special. Beer Bazaar is proud to collaborate with Trillium Yoga Studio, located just down the block at 170 Center Street.

Meet Your Instructor: Kristin Campobasso

Kristin Campobasso is a beloved instructor at Trillium Yoga and a familiar face behind the counter at Beer Bazaar!

Her teaching philosophy focuses on accessibility, body awareness, and joyful movement. Kristin crafts all-level vinyasa flow sequences designed to welcome complete beginners while offering challenging pose variations for experienced practitioners.

The Trillium Yoga Philosophy

Trillium Yoga believes in the power of yoga for every body type. By bringing yoga out of traditional studio spaces and into local gathering hubs, Kristin helps demystify yoga practice. She creates an encouraging, low-pressure atmosphere where laughter is always welcomed.

The Science of Somatic Yoga & Mindful Craft Sipping

Combining physical yoga postures (asanas) with mindful beverage consumption offers distinct physiological and psychological benefits.

1. Somatic Muscle Lengthening & Joint Mobility

Gentle vinyasa movement warms up muscles, lubricates joint capsules with synovial fluid, and increases circulation.

Targeted spinal twists and hip openers release stored physical tension accumulated from long work weeks or sedentary desk hours.

2. Parasympathetic Nervous System Activation

Deep, rhythmic breathing (pranayama) practiced during Bend and Brew Yoga Grayslake stimulates the vagus nerve.

Vagus nerve activation shifts your body out of sympathetic “fight-or-flight” stress states and into parasympathetic “rest-and-digest” recovery modes. This rapidly lowers blood pressure and reduces systemic cortisol.

3. Mindful Sip Dynamics & Reward Pathways

Participants can choose to sip their craft beverage before, during, or after the yoga flow.

Sipping a small-batch lager, cider, or microdosed THC tonic after physical movement triggers a dopamine reward response. Enjoying a craft beverage mindfully heightens sensory appreciation for hop aromas, malt sweetness, and carbonation texture.
